The beginning. . .
Joann, or “the Queen” as we affectionately call her, opened a small retail gourmet-gift store, named Truly Tasteful, in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania in December 1988. The business quickly grew; she expanded to a larger store while rapidly increasing her multi-state following and creating a successful retail catalog business. In 1994 she began wholesaling her cleverly packaged products; the business exploded! Joann began enlisting talented co-workers to help her manage the immense demand for her products. The business grew into a multi-million dollar wholesale/retail operation, selling products to over 13,000 retailers nationally. She designed and imported an extensive line of tea related products.
With the exhausting pace of the business and the demands of her growing children – Joann jumped at the opportunity to merge her business with some local businessmen – hoping to ease the stress of managing. The new management and combined business was not what she hoped for. Joann had given up control of the business and was faced with watching decisions being made that she knew would be detrimental to the company. Joann left the business she loved and nurtured out of utter frustration. Now faced with no job and no college degree – Joann decided to start a new business helping large companies design, manufacture, and direct-import products; she soon landed several prestigious clients. She opened an office abroad, created an office in her home, and began enjoying work again.
Joann “discovered” eBay in November of 2005 purchasing Christmas gifts for her children. She decided to try selling some of the NUMEROUS production samples she had accumulated – and quickly saw that her eBay “pastime” could become a lucrative business.
After years of working hard to turn “lemons into lemonade” – creating a good situation out of a bad one – Joann was offered the remaining inventory left in her former business. Joann purchased the inventory and created a successful eBay store and website – www.thequeenstreasures.com
The “Kingdom” today. . .
We are proud to have developed a wonderful line of exclusively designed products to bring out the “girly girl” in us all. In 2010 we shipped over 20,000 orders achieving the highest rating in customer satisfaction on eBay and ranking in the top 25% of ALL sellers on Amazon during Holiday 2010.
But in truth, Joann started her expansion because of her very precious great nieces. 
Family will always be paramount to the “Queen” – she still enjoys big family get-togethers at her home with extensive home-cooked family meals. She’s so proud that both her children have had a hand in designing and developing product. She so enjoys watching the next generation delight in her products and takes all her great-nieces advise on what they think “Jo-Jo” should make next! Making sure that her favorite girls – and yours - are safe AND having fun became a personal mission. We hope you can feel her dedication and love in every piece she sells, down to the personal note that she sends with each order online, or the glass of friendship tea she hands out while customers shop in the retail store.
